This sunny kitchen was fully remodeled with major structural modifications. We installed hardwood floors, custom cherry cabinetry and trim, and a built-in kitchen table attached to a center island. Open, airy, and full of light—yet warm and welcoming. That’s what the client wanted at the end of their Arlington kitchen remodel, and that’s what we achieved.
Full Kitchen Remodel with Major Structural Modifications
We started by removing all the framing, relocating the plumbing rough-in, and making some serious structural modifications that opened up the space and allowed us to create this bright family kitchen. Pale blonde hardwood floors are comfy for hardworking feet and gorgeous when the sun hits them.
Custom Cherry Woodwork
They set a perfect stage for the custom woodwork we did in bright cherry. The spacious island features recessed panels on its cherry doors and drawers, which help it blend seamlessly into the attached custom kitchen table. The idea for this table was developed because the client really wanted to make the kitchen an inviting, comfortable space for family and friends to gather.
Large Floorplan
We designed the floor plan to be large enough to include the table and island while leaving plenty of space for the family chefs to make culinary magic. The island features the same custom-made granite countertop that shines in the rest of the kitchen. Its unique colorway has glints of green, gray, beige, and soft red, making it the perfect complement to the fresh flowers the homeowner likes to keep in the space. The cabinets and drawers are outfitted with brushed-brass knobs that mimic the rounded tops on the ladder back chairs around the table.
Installing New Appliances
We installed Subzero, Thermador, and Wolf appliances, including a double wall oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, gas range, and range hood—all in stainless steel. A five-lamp chandelier in brushed steel sheds light on the table and island, while ceiling spotlights help illuminate the entire kitchen. A row of casement windows lines the entire wall above the sink, providing views of the backyard while bringing in streams of sunlight. The kitchen opens to a butler’s pantry to the left of the range.
